DAY ONE: Find Your Range

Friday, August 16th from 4p-8p PST

  • Private Mini Coaching Sessions: Meet with Lis 1:1 during a 20-min time slot to help you find your “money range" and receive a song that fits your desired genre tailored to you.

DAY TWO:Find Your Technique

Saturday, August 17th from 10a-5p PST

  • Welcome and Introduction (30 min): Overview of the intensive and icebreaker activities to foster group connection
  • Voice Warm-Up: The Embodied Voice (1 hour): Breath support and mindful movement practice
  • Basics of Reading Music (1 hours): Introduction to reading sheet music, rhythm, and notation

    LUNCH BREAK (30 min)
     
  • Basics of Singing (3 hours): Fundamental singing skills (Pitch, tone, and resonance)

DAY THREE: "Find Your Voice"

Sunday, August 17th from 10a-5p PST

  • Welcome Back (15 min): Review day one and overview of day two
  • Voice Warm-Up: The Connected Voice (1 hour): Techniques for emotional connection and expression
  • Advanced Vocal Techniques (1.5 hours): Dynamics, phrasing, and genre-specific techniques

    LUNCH BREAK (30 min)
     
  • Material Work and Resilience Building (3 hours): Participants voluntarily perform selection of assigned song for the group with individual coaching from Lis
  • Closing (30 mins): Peer reflections and group discussion, addressing any questions moving forward

Meet Lis

actor, singer, and vocal coach

From established performing artists to hobbyists and complete beginners, Lisa Ermel (they/her/his) serves their clients as an experienced artist and teacher.

She developed her work ethic in the theatre for nearly 25 years and cultivated a deep commitment to voice & movement training while studying for her MFA in Acting at USC School of Dramatic Arts. Since graduating from USC, Lis has worked at the Ahmanson Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, and Rockwell Table & Stage, where they co-wrote and starred in a one-woman show, “Joan of Arc: Cabaret" (clip included below!).

A queer, neurodivergent trauma-informed 200hr Registered Yoga Teacher (200RYT®) and AEA/SAG-AFTRA actor in Los Angeles, Lis enjoys spending their time between auditions cuddling her pit mix with her partner, overwatering her plants, doom scrolling on Instagram, and coaching trauma-informed voice lessons through her private practice, “The Virtual Studio.”
